When I was a kid, most people in mid Wales were Wolves fans. Molineux was football Mecca and Billy Wright was the local hero. Today, the only Wolves fan I know is Ashok at the BBC. But now I know the new owner of Wolves, Steve Morgan - well sort of know him anyway. I've never known the owner of a football club - unless you count Mike Harris of TNS. I reckon that's good enough a reason to support a football club.
And apart from anything else, Steve Morgan has a wonderful record of delivery. He was the man who left school at 16, borrowed £5000 from his dad and went off and built Redrow, the house builders. If anyone will transform the Wolves into the force they were when I was a kid, it will be Steve. So "hang on to your hat, Ashok. The good times are coming."

As a Liverpool fan i was gutted Steve Morgan didnt take over Liverpool...
The problem is whether the money will attract enough quality players to the club. When fulham raced up to Premiership- al fayed talked about buying Zidane- they got barry hayles! Having money without prestige/european competition is not always a guarantee of success...
The Chelsea owner has 'invested' £600m in his hobby. That is £300m per Premiership title.
The aspirration for the majority of Premiership clubs is to a) avoid relegation and b)try to qualify for UEFA Cup. Money talks today. Serious money and 60,000 seater stadium(owner/s must be worth £1bn)a pre-requisite for silverware. Sadly local lads committed to their local team(Gerrard/Liverpool)are a thing of the past.
I believe Morgan will a) get Wolves into Premiership and b)stay up. Best you can hope for is a Cup run and maybe Carling Cup. Good luck.
What is the saying?
To end up with a small fortune, buy a football club, having started with a huge fortune.
Something like that any way!!!
Wolves geting to the premiership - and staying up would be a terrific performance. From then on its megamoney - or relly skillful management, as we have seen at Bolton and Reading. I wouldn't put anything past Steve Morgan. I can just see the result in two years time Wolves 2, Liverpool 1.
Maybe, Tevez to Wolves. Probably too fanciful!
