AM/PM Awards

My early offering for Newcomer of the Year is Darren Millar - with Alun Davies as runner up. Darren has surprised many with his ability to communicate in a reasoned and considered way. Darren is the Tory to watch. He will lead the Conservatives in the National Assembly at some stage. I particularly like the way he has not become puffed up with his own importance - which is more than you can say for every AM.

Campaigner of the Year has to go to Andrews for Burberry

anon - he probably knows

anon 2 - Cannot disagree with that - though I cannot remember if it was this year or last!!

nice to see you being magnanimous about a labour am.

A good shout for AM of the year would be Elin Jones. She has done a fantastic job since taking the rural affairs portfoilo. i actually think all the Plaid ministers have done a decent job in what was a huge step up in performance. Jocelyn Davies has been very quiet and has maybe not used her brief as well, although as a deputy minister it must be more difficult. However i think Elin has excelled and deserves credit for that.

anon - I am not going to disagree with you over this - but the judges will probably be daft enough to give it to Ieuan Wyn Jones for 'leading Plaid into Governemnt'. Personally, I'd give him a yellow feather for chickening out of going for First Minsiter.

Nice one Glyn I like your last comment!

Totally agree Glyn – Darren Millar is proving to be first class. His performance has made Alan Pugh’s shameful smear campaign in Clwyd West during the election look even more absurd.

Before the Assembly Election, some were telling me that DM was a 'loon'. They couldn't have been more wrong. Even though he is still very inexperienced, he has shown me enough to have recruited me as an enthusiatic supporter. I really want him to fulfil this potential.
