This is more a non-post. I'm not going to add any fuel. I've refused interviews on this issue, and I can't remember doing that very often. But I just want to write that Alun Cairns is one of my very best friends in politics. Without commenting on the two inappropriate words that Alun used on Dau o'r Bae, which he immediately retracted and for which he has fulsomely apologised, I just want to say that I have never heard Alun say or do anything that might indicate prejudice towards any nation in the world. I'll not be approving comments on this.

Come on Glyn be a devil? If it was the Good Lord of Cardiff Bay or even dare I say your game show host/ part time MP ..I am sure we would allowed a comment.
What will Mrs Mop Bucket think about this censorship Glyn....never in Europe
anons - I don't mind you criticising me and you've both make a fair point - but Alun is such a good friend of mine. The whole affair has quite upset me. I'm just not myself - and it is my blog. And I have not consulted Mrs M. Anyway I'm off to Edinburgh first thing in the morning, so I can't moderate.
Ive met Alun and he's a congenial chap. I hope he makes it back onto the front benches when this has all blown over.
i am not a tory by the by but what i will say is the Alun Cairns has made a mistake which he has apologised for. he is a politician of the highest calibre and seems to me as if he cares. i may be wrong but i think enough is enough and he should be allowed to get on with things. let him be the candidate for the Vale and let the electorate decide. hope you can allow this on Glyn
sanddef and anon - I had lots of comments in support of Alun, in much the same vein as yours, only more fulsome. I didn't have any of the opposite sort.
