A 'bad luck' Duck named Cherry.

Imagine that you are a sexually active young woman of rare beauty, and find yourself stranded on a desert island where you are destined to spend the rest of your life. And then you discover that two others survived the ship crash and were washed up on the same island. Just imagine how blessed you might feel on discovering that they were two strikingly attractive male hunks with well honed bodies. And then just imagine how p***ed off you'd feel, watching them fall in love with each other - leaving you to catch the rabbits and make the coconut soup, while the two boys walked along the beach holding hands, and gazing into each others eyes. Well, now you know how Cherry feels.

Cherry is the last remaining Blue Duck in Britain. She lives at the Arundel Wetlands Centre in West Sussex. In an attempt to avoid extinction of the Blue Duck, the last two male Blue Duck in the country were evacuated from their homes and put in the same duck pen as Cherry at Arundel. The two boys are said to 'big personalities', and Centre warden, Paul Stephens stood back and waited for love action, and the eventual arrival of a clutch of little Blue Ducklings. And then, so the Telegraph informs us, the two boys elected to fall in love with each other rather than fight over Cherry, who remains untaken. Paul told the Telegraph that "They stay together all the time, parading up and down, whistling to each other". (Whatever turns you on I suppose). "People who visit the Centre think they're a fantastic couple, and come from from all over the country to see them" Cherry has taken the whole thing in her stride, and doesn't seem bothered. Strikes me that she has been struck down by the most appallingly bad luck.

Surprised you haven't been targeted by your local gay liberation front over that last sexist statement. But perhaps it's true, there is only one homosexual in Powys? ;-)

Frank - I'm sorry if I cause any offence, but I found the story quite amusing. I suppose it could be taken as 'sexist' - but surely we have not reached that level of correctness yet.
