Stunning interview on Dragon's Eye tonight with Dai Havard, Labour MP for Merthyr. He said that Gordon Brown is currently 'in denial' about what the Labour Party thinks. He had to have it dragged from his lips that he would support Gordon Brown - even in a confidence vote. And he finished up by saying of Gordon "at the moment he's the leader" Blimey. When a party is in a downward spiral, previously loyal backbench MPs start talking as Dai did tonight. And it was obvious that he didn't give a damn what his leader, the Prime Minister thinks. We are in Dianne Abbott territory here.

Is this what it come to on the welsh blogs getting excited about a second rate interviewer in Rhyn ap Iorweth interviewing a third rate labour backbencher, Dai Havard, who basically stated information that we already know because it been in the news all week.
Dragon Eye's is getting worse every week and knowing some of what is passed to them and what stories they could cover and don't is depressing in the extreme. What has happened to our investigative journalism in Wales?
He is a non entity, never does anything for his constituents, most of his time he plays soldiers in Basra.
Third rate -I think you are promoting him.I dislike disloyalty and this he has shown.
Glyn I rate you but not on this point
The man would gain some brownie points if he did something to benefit the many in need in his patch
It was a great interview and Rhun asked all the right questions (and no I'm not just saying that because I was at school with him)
I agree with your analysis, Glyn. As Ive said recently, I don't think Gordo will make it to the next general election.
anon 1 - Don't agree with you here. Dai Havard is a bit of a barometer MP for me - and it is a big political story when he is so contemptuous of the Prime Minister in public. And so brazen with it.
anon 2 - I'm not commenting on Dai's quality as an MP. The point is that he is an MP, and parading himself around the studios undermining the Prime Minister - which means that Gordon Brown is in big trouble. As it seems that Ordo also thinks.
Dai Harvard and red rebel do not fall into the same bracket. The people of Merthyr know that, so why doesn't anybody else?!
and it is a big political story when he is so contemptuous of the Prime Minister in public. And so brazen with it.
Speaks volumes about you Glyn and the other bloggers that you all value cheap party point scoring above real politcal stories no wonder welsh jourmalism is in trouble and welsh politics is dying on its feet, you deserve each other.
you deserve each other
That would be a cooment from an upset Labour supporter I guess.
anon - I don't admire disloyalty, even to someone who deserves it as much as the Prime Minister, who showed it in spades to Toney Blair. But the transformation of our Prime Minsiter into a weakling being kicked around by his own MPs like a cork being tossed on an unruly ocean is a story.
glyn, im not saying its not a story but of all the things that Dragon Eye (and then the bloggers) could have covered in the week before the local elections and the very low turn out we will probably get, why hand over a large segment of the show to point scoring from as i've said third rate backbencher. my point is why can't we all do better?
Sandef the deserving each other was directed at the press and politicians, my concern is about level of engagment in politics and the quality of journalism and the amount of stuff buried to keep politicians on side. i've never been a party hack of any political colour.
What is being buried to keep politicians onside? Tell us here and then we don't have to waste half an hour watching Dragon's Eye this week.
