A Contest made in Hell

I hear that things are hotting up in the contest to lead the Liberal Democrat Assembly group. I'm told that Eleanor Burnham has thrown her feathers and fur hat into the ring. I reckon that she might win. Lets look at the whole field of 6 possible runners.

1) Pre-May favourite, Kirsty Williams completely blew it when her not so surreptitious, behind the scenes shenanigans sunk the Rainbow Coalition last May.
2) Loyalty to Mike German will stop the able Jenny Randerson entering the race - unless Mike calls it a day of course.
3) Mick Bates has never shown the slightest interest.
4) Peter Black has said that he would go for it - but only to ensure that there is a contest. Well, we have a contest - so what now Peter.

Which leaves us with Mike German and Eleanor. Now this really would be a contest to savour. I wonder which one Lembit Opik is going to support. I'll probably put a tenner on the other.

Let's just all hope Lembit Opik backs himself to win at the next general election. If so, it's in the bag for you Glyn! Let's also hope he continues associating with that flimsy dressed brainless tart - and I don't mean Eleanor Burnham!

Does Lembit have any relevance in the welsh party these days? Rumour has it they know full well there's a lot more to come out in the papers about him. Does he have any influence at all? His credibility is shot to pieces. And if these rumours are true, the papers will publish when they can cause the utmost damage. The Welsh Lib Dems are in a hopeless position - just look at the poor quality of the people interested in the leadership. Says a lot about the party................

Comments reflect the sort of thing I'm hearing a lot of. I've decided to not get involved in it - except where the level of absurdity reaches irresistable levels. And then only tongue in cheek.

Is it just me or does anyone see the leadership contender being derailed by "the wrong type of support" as supplied by Lembit Opik?!
