The Wig

Montgomeryshire is in the news again today. All over the front page of the Daily Mail, and in many other places. And the reason. Our MP purchased a 'Mother of all Wigs' from Hamley's, (along with another wig), and charged them both to the taxpayer. They were to be used at a charity event. Lots of people have asked me what a 'Mother of all Wigs' looks like. Well, here it is. I think we should be told what's happened to it, but our MP seems to have gone to ground.

I notice that that this 'Mother of all Wigs', is available on the Internet, costs only £11.31 - while Hamley's charged £19.99 for their version. I also notice its now out of stock. Probably been an almighty rush as a result of today's publicity. It would look really good on a Segway rider.

Perhaps there should be a campaign for the promotion of merkins?

Didn't Phil Spector have a penchant for wearing "Mother of all Wigs"?

... at least Phil Spector didn't bill the taxpayer.

Extract from an MP's diary: "Put the cat out, pay the paper boy, ignore the council tax bill, and there was something else that needed attention ... but what? Oh yes, bill the dumb taxpayer for XYZ.

Glyn,

This man has to be removed. He has no serious, non-selfserving position on an any issue. As Heledd Fychan points out his voting record on expensses reform is somewhat less than convincing.

We both know that he is facing his cumuppance from the weight of public opinion quite soon.

Have you had a good look at the three Plaid Cymru MPs expenses yet Glyn? If not, why not!

All - I stopped reading 'expenses' stories (beyond the headlines anyway) after the first week. There is only one conclusion. The curent Parliament has lost all authority and credibility, despite many MPs being innocent of any wrong doing. But I couldn't miss the 'wigs' story, because it is so ridiculous.

Wigs - OK fair point, but the Welsh Nationalist have come out of this smelling of roses, suggest you have a look at the three MPs in question.

This behaviour it has to be said is entirely typical of the MP for Montgomeryshire - he's long past his sell by date.

Did you know that Peter Black is confident that Lembit Oprick will hang onto his seat next general election? Seems a bit out of touch if you ask me.

Anon - I know that Peter Black is totally confident that Lembit Opik is going to retain his seat at the next General Election. I'm told that the Lib Dems in Montgomeryshire are equally confident. It is a constituency with a strong Liberal tradition, but we feel that we are in with a chance this time. Time will tell.

I don't know where you get the story that the Lib Dems in Mont are confident of hanging on to the seat from!
My sources tell me a very different story. What with his awful reputation, his dodgy expenses claims and the widespread knowledge there's more to come on him, there's a eal fear that his seat is in danger and a rcognition that LO is the only person capable of losing what should be a safe Liberal seat
