In 1999 and 2003, my party insisted that to be placed on the 'regional' list is was a requirement that any candidate had to fight a constituency election. The Labour Government banned this 'dual candidacy' for the 2007 election. I lost my position because we won two seats in South West Wales, so Lisa lost out.

I played most of my rugby for Shrewsbury - at a time when the Shrewsbury team was virtually the Shropshire team. Today teams such as Whitchurch and Bridgenorth have diminished the dominance of Shrewsbury. In the latter part of my career, I played for Welshpool. I did also play representative rugby for Shropshire and for North Wales. I played between the age of 21 and 32, when I retired to concentrate on squash.Glyn Davieshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17344589217554138315noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34112832.post-17319098287963809022008-03-20T13:06:00.000+01:002008-03-20T13:06:00.000+01:00The other question I have Glyn is who did you actu...The other question I have Glyn is who did you actually play rugby for during your career you talk about it with great fondness - what sort of level did you play ?ravensparkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14171099551700240367noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34112832.post-63555931247839993602008-03-20T13:04:00.000+01:002008-03-20T13:04:00.000+01:00Glyn I am new to these parts and dont quite unders...Glyn
I am new to these parts and dont quite understand how the regioanl votes system works .

I suppose my question is have you ever actually won an election in this constituency ? or always entered through the PR routeravensparkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14171099551700240367noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34112832.post-18792747529699070312008-03-19T12:59:00.000+01:002008-03-19T12:59:00.000+01:00anon - I also happen to be a user. I do thing that a Mayor or local Council leader takes precedence, but I've never been keen on asking the local AM or MP to always do these things. Not only does it give an even bigger advantage to 'the incumbant' but it usually involves an 'official opener' who does not have any particular interest in whatever is being 'opened'.Glyn Davieshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17344589217554138315noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34112832.post-86459715319566612882008-03-19T09:30:00.000+01:002008-03-19T09:30:00.000+01:00What's wrong with these people, questioning why yo...What's wrong with these people, questioning why you should have been the one to open this fitness centre? a) You are doing more for Montgomeryshire even when not in office, than some who are!!
b)If anyone is a good advert for keeping fit following major surgery ....you are.
