Just instuct boundary commission to take into account sparcity, trafition and geographical realities. Let them do their job, without too much instuction from politicains.
Glyn Davieshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17344589217554138315noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34112832.post-10711747556207920622013-02-02T12:52:20.859+01:002013-02-02T12:52:20.859+01:00I'd like to know the opinion of an MP in a &qu...I'd like to know the opinion of an MP in a "rural" constituency.

Clegg and Cameron kept going on about having "fair constituencies" i.e having constituencies with the same population sizes.

Do you agree with this?

My fear is that if this was allowed to happen we'd end up with massive amount of MPs from urban areas (particularly as urbanisation continues) and policies will then reflect this.

Furthermore I fear that in Wales and in the North of Scotland you'd end up with MASSIVE constituencies (due to the sparsely populated areas).

So Glyn, do you agree with me that in the future when boundaries are changed. The Government of the day should consider:
a) obviously the population
But also
b) that no constituency should be more than x acres or that no constituency should have a travel time for MPs of over x hrs?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
